Marching into Order: Spring Renewal!

As March unfolds, the arrival of spring fills the air with a sense of renewal and rejuvenation. It's the perfect time to breathe new life into your surroundings and embrace the beauty of the season. From refreshing outdoor living spaces to swapping out your seasonal wardrobes, there are countless ways to welcome in spring!

First, let’s focus on revamping your outdoor living spaces! As the chill of winter fades, your outdoor areas eagerly await to be brought back to life! Let's transform your spaces into vibrant retreats for relaxation and enjoyment. March is a perfect time to assess our patios, decks, and gardens. Here are some tips to help get you started!

1. Declutter and Organize: Start by decluttering your outdoor spaces and get rid of any damaged or worn equipment, tools and decor. Organize any items that have accumulated over the winter months and tidy up storage areas. Create new organizational systems for the storage of your tools, if need be.

2. Deep Clean and Assess: Give your outdoor surfaces a thorough cleaning to remove dirt, grime, and stains. Power wash patios and decks. Examine your current outdoor furniture and decide if they just need a good clean or if they should perhaps, be replaced with some new items.

3. Update Outdoor Decor: Add new elements to your outdoor decor to freshen up the space. You can clean and rearrange garden decor you already have, or buy a few new items to liven up the area. Consider incorporating vibrant cushions, throw pillows, or outdoor rugs in spring-inspired colors to add a pop of color and comfort to your outdoor living area. Create an inviting atmosphere with string lights, lanterns, candles and tiki torches to extend the enjoyment of your outdoor space well into the evening hours.

4. Gardening: Infuse your outdoor area with the vibrance of spring by incorporating an array of colorful flowers and plants. Consider planting vibrant blooms in pots, suspending baskets of trailing plants from your porch or gazebo, or setting up vertical gardens to add visual allure and enrich the atmosphere of your outdoor retreat. You can also add some shallow pots with succulents to your outdoor tables!

~Did you know~ Our team of women with Felicia’s Best can assist you with delegating and accomplishing your spring tasks!?! We can help manage your household! Next, let’s focus on switching your seasonal wardrobes! It’s time to bid farewell to warm winter clothes and welcome the light and airy fabrics of spring. This wardrobe switch not only prepares you for the warmer months ahead, it also helps you simplify and brings a fresh burst of color and style into your daily life. Here are some tips to help you with this transition!

1. Declutter: Before making the switch, take the opportunity to declutter your wardrobe. Donate or sell any winter items you didn't wear during the season, and assess your spring wardrobe to determine what you truly need and love.

2. Organize and Store: When storing away your winter clothes, organize them by category to make it easier to find items next season. Group similar items together, such as sweaters, coats, scarves and boots. Label storage containers accordingly. Store out-of-season clothes in the back of the closet or in a separate storage area to make room for current wardrobe staples.

3. Use Vacuum-Sealed Bags: Maximize storage space by using vacuum-sealed bags to compress bulky winter items and store them under beds or in closets. This not only saves space in your home, but also helps protect your clothes from dust, moisture, and pests while in storage.

4. Bring in Spring: Once your winter items are out- you can focus on your spring clothing! Take some time to organize your warm weather wardrobe! We like to group similar items by sleeve/pant length as well as organize clothing by color. Follow the acronym “ROYGBIV (Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet)” to help you arrange your clothes in the order of the rainbow. We will often do black, grey and whites first and then the rest of the the colors. But have fun and do what you think works best!

As spring approaches, it's a wonderful time to rejuvenate our homes. Science has shown, that if our homes are orderly, our minds can be too. Just as the natural world sheds its winter coat and bursts forth with new life, we too can shed old habits, beliefs, and routines that no longer serve us. Whether you're revamping your outdoor areas, enlisting assistance for home maintenance tasks, or transitioning your wardrobe for the season, these are just a few suggestions for getting you on track to welcome the warmer months ahead. Refreshing your life for spring is not just about embracing change, but about embracing the potential for growth, creativity, and joy that comes with it.
