Here's how we're making a difference:
Reusing: Many times, our clients already have great organizing products in their homes like bins, baskets and other containers. Even if they don't all match perfectly, we love getting creative with what they already have. Whether it's repurposing an item for use elsewhere in the home or rearranging furniture to maximize functionality, our goal is to bring new energy into each home by finding innovative uses for existing pieces. While we enjoy the chance to revamp a space with new products, we're also mindful of our client's budget and strive to find solutions that work within their means.
Donating: While some people may be tempted to just throw away their unwanted items, we're dedicated to a different approach. If an item is still in good condition and has the potential to benefit someone else, we go the extra mile to find it a deserving new home. We're proud to collaborate with numerous local organizations here in Tucson, facilitating donations of a wide range of items, ranging from clothing and hygiene products, to children’s toys, home goods, furniture, office supplies, pet supplies, food and more! We take pride in donating to organizations where these items will be genuinely valued by locals in need.
Some of our favorite local donation organizations are: More Than a Bed, Your Sister’s Closet, Injoy Thrift Stores, Assistance League of Tucson, Safe Shift (Tucson Fire Foundation Thrift Store), Bringing Out the Best, Gospel Rescue Mission, Blessingdales's Boutique, Great Things Thrift Store, Casa De Los Ninos, Hermitage No-Kill Cat Shelter, Friends of PACC and Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona.
Recycling: Our commitment to sustainability is the guiding force behind our home organizing services. While assisting our clients in decluttering, organizing or unpacking their spaces, we actively identify which items can be recycled, such as cardboard, paper, plastics, glass and metals. We sort these items and make sure they get to the right places. Since the City of Tucson stopped offering curbside pickup for glass recyclables, our client's often request that we take their glass collections to neighborhood glass recycling dropoff facilities.
Beyond that, we also set aside any unwanted electronics to be taken to Suburban Minor, an incredible local e waste recycling center. Not only do they accept computers, TV's, cable boxes, wires, cell phones and printers... they have an entire list of items they can take! Many electronics have incredibly toxic parts that need to be disposed of correctly- and the landfill is NOT the answer. Electronics are not the only household items that must be disposed of properly.
Responsible Disposal Practices: While working in our client’s homes, we often encounter hazardous materials that are harmful to the environment and can contaminate water sources if not disposed of properly. The ones we see most often are old and expired batteries, prescription pills and paint. By participating in battery recycling programs, drug take-back initiatives, and partnering with local hazardous waste recycling centers, we minimize the environmental impact of these chemicals and contribute to a cleaner, safer community. Tucson Clean and Beautiful is a great resource that has a recycling/disposal directory that includes tons of links to places that accept a huge variety of household items- ranging from automobile parts and bicycles, to art and CD's, to eye glasses and hearing aids, among just a few. The list is impressive!
Education and Awareness: We believe that spreading awareness is key to fostering a culture of sustainability. Through our social media channels on facebook and instagram as well as our blog on our website, we strive to provide valuable insights, resources, and inspiration to help individuals make informed choices that benefit both the environment and their well-being. By educating our clients and community about the importance of sustainability, we aim to instill a sense of responsibility and empowerment, driving positive change for a greener future.
